Abstract

3D modeling software has become an essential tool in contemporary automotive design education. This research was conducted at Andijan State Technical Institute during the 2024-2025 academic year and aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of applying Blender and Autodesk Alias in automotive design pedagogy. The study involved 46 third-year students divided into two groups: an experimental group (23 students) trained with 3D modeling software, and a control group (23 students) educated through traditional 2D drafting methods. Results from the one-semester experiment (18 weeks, 108 hours) demonstrated that 3D technologies significantly enhance design competencies. Technical skills of experimental group students improved by 34.2%, visualization ability by 41.8%, and creative thinking by 28.5%. Industry representatives gave high ratings to the 3D models created by students. The research proved that Blender is suitable for initial learning, while Alias is effective for professional-level work. The teaching methodology developed in this article is recommended for application in Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions in automotive and industrial design programs.
